The Torres Brandy Zero Challenge is Back

Are you ready to make history? The Torres Brandy Zero Challenge, a Program of the USBG, is back for 2025/2026! This competition seeks to transform the hospitality sector by contributing sustainable projects and solutions with a positive impact for companies, people, and the planet. In this challenge, Torres Brandy calls on hotels, restaurants, and bars around the world to submit their sustainable bar initiatives to promote a new mind-set in mixology that prioritizes the environment.

The Torres Brandy Zero Challenge is the first international competition to present an award to the world's most sustainable cocktail bar project and the world’s largest sustainable hospitality competition.

Applications are now open for you to present your project to us demonstrating how you would set up and manage a sustainable bar! The application consists of providing a video (up to three minutes in length) explaining your sustainable bar project/idea and providing a brief written explanation of your sustainable bar project/idea and what environmental problem is being addressed.

What type of projects can participate? All those which have a specific and sustainable purpose to improve the hospitality sector; have a social or environmental impact; and provide a clear and achievable solution. Categories include: 

• waste management
• renewable energy
• sustainable architecture and design
• social inclusion

There is so much more to be done and at Torres Brandy, we know it! 

This year, 100% of the scoring will be based on the project. The scoring criteria will be based on:  

• The Idea (30 points)
• Sustainability (30 points)
• Roadmap (30 points)
• Future Growth (10 points)

The four top scoring applicants will be selected to attend the National Final (Location TBD) in February 2026 to present their projects. The winner of the National Final will then move on to represent the US in the Global Final in Barcelona, Spain in March 2026. The winner of the Global Final will receive a prize to help make their sustainable bar project a reality!
