REPEAL AND RENEW: UNITED STATES BARTENDERS’ GUILD ANNOUNCES OPENING OF MEMBERSHIP DRIVE TO BEGIN DECEMBER 5
HENDERSON, NV (DECEMBER 1, 2020) - The United States Bartenders’ Guild (USBG) today announces the kickoff to its annual membership drive on December 5. Titled “Repeal and Renew,” the drive will coincide with Repeal Day, the anniversary of the ratification of the 21st amendment which in 1933 overturned Prohibition.
“With the recent change to an annual membership calendar, we are striving to make the process of becoming a member and renewing membership as easy as possible,” said USBG Executive Director Aaron Gregory Smith. “We’ve all got a lot on our minds, so we thought an easy way to remember the date to renew membership would be to tie it to another date that is key to bar culture in the US: Repeal Day.”
A USBG membership grants access to endless professional resources, career development, networking inside the hospitality industry, and a wide range of educational programming that provides valuable training and experience. Members become part of a community of like-minded individuals who support each other and help one another grow in their careers.
Though new membership is available year round, membership renewals are accepted through December 31, and in an effort to mitigate the financial encumbrance at a time when the industry faces its greatest challenge since Prohibition, the USBG is waiving rejoin fees and is offering Pay-What-You-Can discounts to hospitality professionals for their 2021 dues.
