Bio

David Nepove aka Mr. Mojito has been locally producing muddlers since 2002, is the Director of Beverage and lead bartender at MacArthur Place Resort in Sonoma, holds the position of Adviser to the Board of the USBG and as of Oct 2018 is now on the Board of the International Bartenders Association (IBA). David held the position of National President of the USBG from 2010 to 2016. David has over 30 years of bartending experience.

David has pursued his love of the restaurant business from the time he was a liberal arts major at CSU at Northridge. He grew up in the restaurant business while putting himself through college, learning the craft from his many restaurant experiences at great bars across the state of California.

His initial introduction to the business was steeped in the tradition of integrity and professional barmanship, grooming him to become a leader in the beverage industry.

He has competed in many cocktail competitions and won first place in Torino, Italy at the 2005 Bacardi Martini Grand Prix world cocktail competition for the “Best Italian Aperitif Cocktail”. In 2002, he was first published by SF Magazines “Best Of” issue that featured his Kumquat Caipiroska. Inspired, he implemented a philosophy of bartending and drink preparation using quality ingredients and proper technique in the creating of great drinks and developing original cocktails for Enrico’s Sidewalk Cafe in San Francisco. Presented with an amazing opportunity, he left his bar position at Enrico’s to work for Southern Wine and Spirits full time as their Director of Mixology.

 

David’s roll with Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits brings him to restaurants and bars across Northern California to share his knowledge and passion for the cocktail and the craft. His primary role is to train bartenders to be more efficient and professional behind the bar and develops cocktail recipes for all types of accounts as well as sharing American classics and of course his award winning recipes.

 

David served on the National Board of the USBG for a decade. His relationship with the USBG started in 2002 when he founded the San Francisco Chapter. The USBG was began in 1948 and is a national guild that is focused on the further education of bartenders, creating camaraderie with in the community of bartenders and working together to raise the level of craftsmanship of the bartender across the nation. The USBG is currently in 56 cities across the US and has a membership base of over 6000 members. www.USBG.org.

 

David started his company Mr. Mojito in 2003 after his frustration grew with the use of standard bar tools available in the US. He began having muddlers made by a local wood worker in San Francisco. www.Mistermojito.com
