The United States Bartenders' Guild invites you to participate in the Green Dot Strategy Workshop by Alteristic, which is a comprehensive approach to violence prevention that capitalizes on the power of peer and cultural influence. Informed by social change theory, the model targets all community members as potential allies and bystanders and seeks to engage them in prevention. Through awareness, education, and skills practice, community members learn proactive behaviors that establish intolerance of violence as the norm, as well as reactive interventions in high-risk situations – resulting in the ultimate reduction of violence. A “Green Dot” is defined as any action, choice, word, or attitude that counters or displaces a “red dot” of violence, reducing the likelihood that someone will be hurt.
