Announcing the Top 50 US World Class Bartenders

By Tiffany Soles posted 02-07-2022 10:05

USBG Presents World Class Sponsored by DIAGEO is scouring the nation to find the 2022 US World Class Bartender of the year!

Bartenders, nationwide, are vying to become the 2022 US World Class Bartender of the Year for the opportunity to compete at the World Class Global Finals this September in Sydney, Australia! Last month, the World Class judging panel narrowed the hundreds of applications down to the Top 100 after blind-judging cocktails and carefully evaluating each entry.

The Top 100 moved on to the Round Two Challenge inspired by the 2022 World Class Studios. Each competitor was asked to elevate a guest’s dining experience by creating one aperitif and one digestif cocktail to pair with dishes inspired by either Latin American or Mediterranean cuisine. Every Top 100 cocktail was recreated, blind-tasted, and scored by our panel of esteemed judges to narrow it down to the final Top 50.

These Top 50 competitors will now advance to the Regional Finals, taking place at the USBG Regional Conferences starting in April, and will take part in three challenges that will test several skills:

  • Creativity in developing a cordial to highlight the flavor profile of a Diageo Reserve Spirit
  • Ability to draw inspiration from their own experiences or desires to influence a cocktail creation using storytelling to enhance their presentation of their serve
  • How well they can create quality serves – quickly

The Top 15 (three finalists per region) will advance to the Nationals Finals in Nashville, TN this June. Only ONE bartender will advance to the World Class Global Finals in Sydney – the 2022 US World Class Bartender of the Year!

Good Luck to our Top 50 Competitors!
