Through it's mission to unite the hospitality community and advance professional bartending, the USBG believes in empowering bartenders to take charge of their careers through providing a solid platform of membership.

What is the Member Referral Program?

Membership is built upon a strong foundation of community, camaraderie, and leadership - and the Guild believes in recognizing leaders that go the extra mile to build and strengthen that mission and purpose.  Click here to learn more.

How does the Member Referral Program work?

When you refer someone for membership, be sure they mention you on their application - it's that simple!

Each quarter, the member with the most referrals will be gifted an exclusive USBG swag item. And each year an annual recipient is recognized, too!

USBG Pittsburgh- 25 years in the industry

Get to know Sean Enright!

Nicknames? The Admiral
Guiltiest pleasure drink? Grasshopper

What is your favorite quote? "Good taste is the excuse I've always given for leading such a bad life." - Oscar Wilde

What is the best advice you have ever received? Don't scoop ice with a pint glass

What advice could you offer to others? It's just dinner. (Meaning, don't beat yourself up too much over mistakes made in the service industry. We tend to obsess over our mistakes and not realize our contributions we make every day to guests' experiences. It should be fun and enjoyable. Take yourself seriously enough to pay attention to every detail of your job, but in the end you WILL make mistakes, but there is very little we can't recover from to exceed a guests experience still. We are not heart surgeons, nobody is going to die on our tables, so relax and do what you know how to do best)

If you could change jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be? Wouldn't mind bartending on a beach somewhere

What other profession would you NEVER try? Polar Explorer

Is there something about you that would surprise people? I voted for George Bush Sr. when I was 18

What (or who) is the greatest love of your life? My children and my cats

Why did you join the USBG? Wanted Pittsburgh to have access to national trends in the bartending world. Wanted to bring together all the Pittsburgh bartenders who were dedicated to the craft to share our knowledge

What is your #1 take-away from your USBG Member experience thus far? The extensive amount of education the Guild provides

Is there something about you that would surprise people? I am a classically trained pianist. Started taking lessons when I was 5 years old and practiced and performed through college.

What (or who) is the greatest love of your life? My fantastic partner and father of our beautiful daughter, who makes me a better person every single day, Matthew Reisinger.

Why did you join the USBG? When I moved to Tampa I was new again to the area after having lived in another market for about 5 years. I didn't know the bar community at all. USBG members would frequent my bar and consistently include me in their evens, competitions, and meetings. They quickly became my friends and I liked the camaraderie I saw between the group. I won my first year membership 7 years ago in a Chartreuse competition. And I’ve kept renewing year after year because of the amazing people that make up the USBG.

What is your #1 take-away from your USBG Member experience thus far? You will get as much out the USBG as you put into it.

Anything else you'd like us to know? In 2017 I wrote a book Pittsburgh Drinks to share Pittsburgh's unique bartender talent with the rest of the world

What is your favorite quote?
My mom always used to say, "A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still". It's origin dates back at least to the 1600's, but was quoted in the "You Can't Win an Argument" section of the 1936 book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People", by Dale Carnegie

My favorite movie of all time is "The Sound of Music"

Why did you join the USBG?
I joined the USBG because I really enjoyed the company of several bartenders I met in Birmingham, Alabama. I was visiting from Huntsville, AL for a cocktail lab and found a really cool USBG community. They were extremely welcoming, and one of them told me I was wearing the wrong shoes for my outfit. He was right. He knew he could tell me. And he still took me around town. That whole crew is family to this day

The relationships cultivated through USBG are some of the greatest that you will ever find in your life
